Ren'Py, RPG Maker, Unity, GameMaker and Godot — into 208 languages. And with Babelith, the game translates itself while you play: no waiting, no second window.

Babelith

The game translates itself while you play

Babelith goes inside the game. There is no app to keep open and no overlay on top: the dialogue simply comes out in your language, and it keeps working on text no tool can extract in advance — menus, plugins, anything built while the game runs.

  • Ren'Py, Unity and RPG Maker — it reads the whole game up front, so dialogue is already translated when it appears.
  • Change language mid-game, from a panel inside the game. 208 to pick from.
  • It never touches the scripts — far fewer broken games, and uninstalling leaves no trace.
  • It rides along to Android, inside the APK you build.

Translation engines

Four ways to translate. It never just stops.

When a service starts rate-limiting you, it parks that one for a couple of minutes and carries on with the next — in the same request. All of them have to be exhausted before translation stops.

🚀

Google & Bing

Free, no account, no API key. Three buckets in rotation so a rate limit never leaves you stuck.

Local AI

Ollama or LM Studio as a first-class engine. Private, free and uncensored — it runs on your own machine.

OCR

Text baked into images, translated on screen. Windows OCR, PaddleOCR or a local vision model.

How it works

Three steps. No setup.

1

Drop the game folder in

Drag and drop. It works out which engine the game uses on its own and opens the right tab.

2

Pick your language

208 to choose from, with a searchable picker. The app itself speaks your language too.

3

Translate, and play

A backup is made before anything is written, and it can be undone whenever you want.

Pricing

Translating games is free. It stays free.

The five engines, every translation service and all the tools cost nothing. What supporters pay for is Babelith — the live in-game translator — and keeping the project moving.

Subscriptions are sold by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Prices are shown at checkout in your currency, with any tax that applies. Cancel any time — you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. See our refund policy.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Do I need to install anything?

No. Unzip it and run the .exe. Python is not required — everything it needs travels with it.

Will it break my game?

A backup is made before anything is written, and the translation can be undone from the app. Babelith is safer still: it never touches the scripts, so uninstalling it leaves no trace.

Do I need an API key or an account?

No. Google and Bing work with no key and no account. If you prefer to keep everything on your own machine, point it at Ollama or LM Studio instead.

What's the difference between translating and Babelith?

Translating rewrites the game's text once, before you play — that part is free. Babelith lives inside the game and covers what can't be extracted in advance: menus, plugin text, anything the game builds while it runs. Both together is what gets you a game fully in your language.

Is it really free, or free-until-later?

Translating games is free and stays free. Supporters pay for Babelith and for keeping the project going — not to unlock something that used to be free.
